ENROLLMENT OPTIONS
Middle Creek High School offers a wide variety
of courses for enrichment including up to 14 advanced placement courses
that provide the opportunity to earn college credit on campus. Students
also can conveniently dual enroll at local colleges like Wake Tech Community
College and NC State. Now there are additional opportunities for students
to pursue high school and/or college credit.
Below
are some of the details on these options. For all of these options, we
recommend that you talk with your counselor first. CLICK

options require approval by the principal.
1.
North Carolina Virtual School

Purpose:
The purpose of the NC Virtual Public School is to provide courses that
students are unable to take at their local schools. in other words,
NCVPS will provide courses that augment a student's local school's program
of study.
Who is eligible?
Characteristics of students who will be successful include (but
are not limited to): self-motivation, ability to learn independently,
strong personal commitment and drive, effective communication skills,
time management skills, basic computer skills (as evidenced by passing
the NC Computer Skills Test), success in previous performance in content
area courses (as evidenced by course grades and previous success on
standardized tests), and good attendance.
What is offered?
High school level courses including honors courses are offered.
Courses are only for acceleration. No courses are being offered at this
time for credit recovery (ie - repeating a course). CLICK

work and log into the course at any time. There are no specific hours
when you are "in class." Work is completed off campus.
Additional Notes?
There are several technical requirements that students must
be able to meet for their computer to successfully work with the NCVPS

2. UNCG iSchool

Purpose:
This program offers students an opportunity to take college classes
while still in high school.
Who is eligible?
Juniors and seniors are eligible. Students should be on track as
college-bound students.
What is offered?
The courses offered are college-level courses. Given that all courses
are 100 and 200 level courses, they all would average in as honors level

Additional Notes?
Students must take these courses on campus during the school
day. This requires a staff member be allocated for this purpose. MCHS
will wait and assess the demand for this to determine if a staff member
can be allocated.

3. Learn & Earn Online

Purpose:
Qualified students in participating high schools can take a variety
of online college-credit courses at no cost to them or to their families.
Students can earn high school and/or college credit for completed courses.
Who is eligible?
All high school students are eligible, but it is primarily seniors
who are far enough in their program of student to participate in these
options.

Additional Notes?
Middle Creek is fortunate to be located close to a Wake
Tech campus. We anticipate that our students will rarely use the online
options because there is such great access to take the classes in person
thanks to our great relationship with Wake Tech!
