Middle Creek High School is one of three high schools in Wake County built on the archetectural plans. The other two are Green Hope and Wakefield.

The biggest modification at Middle Creek was the addition of the Community Center.

New Student Orientation. Middle Creek will host an orientation for new students and their parents at 7:00p on August 22. There will be a brief formal meeting to meet administrators, teachers, and staff followed by an opportunity to walk the halls and find classrooms. Students should bring a copy of the schedule they were mailed to the New Student Orientation.

Question: What is the difference between Freshman Orientation and New Student Orientation? Despite the similarity in names, they are designed to be two totally different events. Freshman Orientation is meant to be a chance for freshmen to get together, get reaquainted with old friends and make new ones, get to see the school, etc. While parents will not be excluded if they arrive, the event is not intended for their benefit. New Student Orientation is designed for both parents and students. For students who attended the Freshman Orientation, they will be able to lead their parents through the building to find their scheduled classes.

Bell Schedule. Classes will begin at 7:25 and end at 2:18 each day. Students arriving early should be either in their first period class, the Media Center, or in the commons area. Students who are still in the building at 3:00 must report to study hall until their ride arrives. To see the school's bell schedule, CLICK HERE.

Lunch Assignments. Middle Creek operates with three lunch periods. A student’s lunch time is determined by the assigned third period. Students will learn their lunch assignments in their first period class on the first day of school.

Lockers. Students requesting a locker will be assigned one during their first period class on the first day of school. Unfortunately, the school will not have a locker for every student.
Open House. All parents are invited to Middle Creek to meet their student’s teachers on September 8 at 7:00 pm.

Does this mean that students will be carrying ALL of their books each day? There are students each year who simply choose not to use a locker. While we cannot guarantee that each student will have a locker, we do anticipate that students who want a locker should have access to one. Also, many student share lockers with others out of convenience based on where their classes are located.

Student Drop-off. All parents will be using the front circle to drop off students. Please refrain from using other parking lots. Only this area will be supervised for safety purposes.

Supplies for Classes. On the first day, you should be fine with the basic supplies—paper, pencils, and pens. If applicable, remember to bring summer reading assignments.

Summer Reading. Several courses have assigned summer reading. Copies of the assignment are available in the front office and on the website (CLICK HERE).

SAT Online Practice. The SAT Readiness Online Program was created to prepare students for new math, critical reading, and writing sections of the SAT. Each Wake County high school student has free access to this program. Details can be found by contacting the Guidance Office.

Transportation & Bus Routes. We will know bus routes approximately two weeks prior to the first day. If possible, routes will be mailed with student schedules in early August. Routes will also be posted on the school’s front door and on the website.
