All experience levels are
welcome! Even if you’ve never sung in a
group before or haven’t sung since 1st grade, you can still enjoy
participating in a high school choir.
Here are a few reasons:
§
Many successful people
in our world cite music as a memorable high school experience.
§
You will develop
critical life-long skills such as CHARACTER, SELF-ESTEEM, SELF-CONFIDENCE,
LEADERSHIP SKILLS, EXPRESSION, SELF-DISCOVERY AND PERFORMANCE SKILLS.
§
The Arts are also a
great “Resume Builder” for those of
you who are college bound or who will enter the work force after graduation.
There are many who have a
large academic load and still participate in Chorus. It can be done easily, especially at MCHS. The BLOCK schedule is good for
this because you have so many elective slots spread out over the course of your
high school career. You can sing and still
explore all your other interests.
Middle School Tryouts for the
2007-08 choirs will be held at Middle Creek High in the chorus room on:
§
March 12, 13, 15, 16,
19, and 20 after school from 2:30-4:00 PM. Contact me at MGilliam@wcpss.net or 773-3889 to schedule a time on any of
these days.
You do not need to prepare
any music in advance for this tryout.
All you need to do is show up.
Sincerely,
Mike Gilliam
MCHS Choral Music Director
