Dear Choir Parents:

 

The Middle Creek High School Choral Booster Club, Inc. will provide moral and financial support for the choral music activities provided for your child at Middle Creek High School.  Although the Choral Department is allocated funds at the school level, this funding does not allow for extras.  Choral Booster funds are therefore used to supplement and enhance opportunities for your children.

 

The following is a list of some short-term and long-term financial goals for our Fine Arts and Choral Departments.  Realizing these goals requires additional funding. 

 

1)       Continue the growth of the choral music library.  We now have over 400 titles in our library.  The sheet music for each song costs approximately $100. 

2)       Continue to fund the student awards program. 

3)       We’ll again celebrate the year at our end of the year Choral Banquet in May. 

4)       Seven years ago, thanks to the efforts of the MCHS Leadership Team and the Choral Booster Club, we were able to purchase a grand piano and orchestra shells for our stage.  We would like to purchase an additional section of the shell and complete the set. 

5)       Built-in risers for the chorus classroom

6)       Stereo for the chorus classroom

7)       Acoustic study of the rehearsal room

8)       Data projector for the auditorium

The Choral Booster Board will hold scheduled meetings to plan events and then call on parents to help. 

               

Please consider signing up as “helpers” for the following events.  The Board will call you as needed as the event approaches.  We may not always need to call everyone on the list.

 

 

_____                September 10, 2009                Choir “Welcome Picnic” Celebration Chaperone (4:00-6:00).  This event is at

Crowder Park.  Hot dogs & hamburgers served.  We need a cook and 6-8

helpers

_____                   Sepemeber 12, 2009                Choir Car Wash @ Millpond McDonalds. 

                                                                We need lots of help (At least 3 parents for each of the 3 shifts).

_____      Fall, 09                                    Butter Braid Pastry delivery & distribution.  4 helpers needed.

_____                August/September, 09                Cheesecake delivery & distribution.  4-6 helpers needed

_____                August/September, 09                Chick-fil-A Calendar distribution. 2 helpers needed

_____      August 09- May 10                             Choral Event Photogprapher. All events covered.

_____      August 09- May 10                             Historian.  Work with student Historians to produce Scrapbook.

_____      October 13, 09                      Fall Concert Chaperone.  8 helpers needed.

_____      October 13, 09                      Fall Concert Usher.  We need 4.

_____      October 25, 09                      National Honor Society Induction Performance.  We need 2

_____      Jan-March 10                                Musical Usher.  Student Council provides this service. 2 adult helpers.

_____      March 15 or 16, 10                  NCMEA Contest.  We need 6 chaperones to go with choirs to contest.

_____      May 6, 10                            Small Ensemble/Jazz Band Concert.  We need 4.

_____      May 14, 10                            Spring Concert Chaperone.  We need 8.

_____      May 14, 10                            Spring Concert Usher.  We need 4.

_____      May 23, 2010                        Baccalaureate.  We need 2 chaperones.

_____      Concerts                                  Fashion Police.  The job is to make sure all students follow                                                                                                       the visual standard for performance.  We need 4 for each

Of the four major concerts and 2 for minor events.
