Middle Creek Choir “Fair Share”

 

This memorandum is an explanation of the MCHS Choral Department’s “Fair Share” budget funding program.

 

Budget

The 2009-10 choir “Fair Share” is the amount per student it will take to meet the MCHS Choral Booster Inc. budget for the entire school year. This budget helps the Choral Department provide enrichment activities and materials for your child.  The “Fair Share” for this year is $75.00 per student (the $10125.00 budget divided by the number of choral music students (135  equals $75). The proposed budget is on the back of this page.

 

How Students Earn Fair Share

Students may EARN their “Fair Share” through Booster provided fundraising activities or pay it all at once at the beginning of the year.  Students will be credited 100% of their individual profits from each fundraiser they choose to participate in until their “Fair Share” is met and their balance is $0.  At that time, students may consider their “Fair Share” met or satisfied.  Some students may wish to continue to fundraise to help others or to work for the MCHS Choral Department (equipment, sheet music, extra purchases…).  That is up to the individual and is not required.  Student accounts do not carry over from year to year.

 

How do I meet My Fair Share?

Each student should decide how he or she plans to earn their “Fair Share” by deciding which fundraisers they will participate in. The “Fair Share” program is designed in a way so that no student or parent should have to pay this obligation out of pocket.  Participation in fundraisers is not required and any student or parent may wish to pay a “Fair Share” without fundraising.  Checks should be made out to the MCHS Choral Boosters, Inc.

 

The fundraisers will begin as soon as school starts.  The fundraiser line-up and profit margin is as follows:

 

 

Student Accounts
Student accounts will be credited all profits generated from these fundraisers.  Any monies (profits) over the $75 “Fair Share” will go into the general Choral Booster account and will be used for various department needs.

 

Deadline

The “Fair Share” deadline is Tuesday, February 26st, 2010.  All students should have successfully completed fundraising by then.

 

Pay by Check if possible

Whenever transacting with the MCHS Choral Boosters, Inc., please create a paper trail by paying by check.  We then have a traceable record of any transaction.

Students and parents should sign and return the “Fair Share” agreement in this packet and return it Wednesday, August 26, 2010.
