Welcome to Middle Creek High School
Congratulations to English Teacher, Matt Scialdone who has been named as the 2015 - 2016 Wake County Teacher of the Year.
Mr. Scialdone teaches ninth-grade English and African-American Literature at Middle Creek High, where he has taught for 13 years. He holds a master’s degree in literature from N.C. State University and a bachelor’s in secondary education from Appalachian State University.
“Matthew Scialdone embodies what all good teachers strive to become. He represents the Wake County Public School System very well, and we congratulate him,” Superintendent James Merrill said. “He is a fierce proponent of community support for our schools, and he is deeply devoted to ‘lighting a fire’ of passion for learning among his students. We salute Matthew for demonstrating excellence in his craft.”
Middle Creek High School is part of Wake County's STEM Schools Collaborative. The WCPSS STEM Schools Collaborative is a group of schools dedicated to enhanced strategic planning, professional development, programming and community advocacy around science, technology, engineering and math. We are provided the opportunity for sharing of best practices around STEM Education and provide leadership to other schools in this area. Middle Creek benefits from shared professional development opportunities, instructional activities, and connections to local, state and national leaders committed to having students focus on the areas of science, technology, engineering, and math.
